1st Day of School

It was a great day! So thankful we all had a great time today. Kierstyn went right to class and had a fun day. Ashtyn loves all her teachers but one. I hope that class is better tomorrow.

Camping and Birthday

Ashtyn will be 13 on the 28th. We finally got smart after 13 years and had her birthday party before school started. We had it at Hawaiian Falls. Worked out great!!!! I think we all had a great time.

Last week we went camping with Kyra, Todd, Kids and Kay and Dan. What a great time we had!!!!!

We are home from Corpus, but off to go camping next week with Kyra and family. Then the girls go to OK to see their dad. They are handling the transition very well. I am so proud of them and how well they are handling all of this. We talk daily and and I feel open communication can make things better, just as no communication can tear things apart. I answer as many of their questions as I can and feel is appropriate.

We start school Aug 23. I can't believe how the summer has passed by. I was hoping everything would be final by now, but they aren't :*( I have had to just give in to the retirement demands and the equity issues in the house. I am tired of spending money on arguing over material things. I have what is most important to me.

I know it has been several weeks since I have posted. My life has taken a HUGE turn and I am trying my best to deal with things as they hit me and make sure I am making healthy choices and decisions. My blog has been about my girls and my love for them and I want to keep it a positive place to document our lives so I have decided not to share the details here. Challenge 4

Challenge 4 started on Monday. I lost 2.6 this week for a total loss of 15.6! Kyra started the challege this time with me too.

Life has been very stressful and lots is going on that isn't happy, but I will get through it. I am having to draw on my strenght and my faith, but I know God has a plan for my life. I appreciate all the wonderful support of my family and friends.

We woke up Christmas Eve morning to reports of snow in Lubbock. My dad sent me a picture and said we might need to go ahead and leave due to the weather. We left by 8:30. We were good until Eastland. The road shut down. We went 41 miles in 4 hours. We stopped in Clyde to eat and go to the bathroom and just get out of the car at 3:30. We should have been to Lubbock already and we weren't even 1/2 way yet. Kierstyn and Ashtyn did great. I sat in the back seat and we took pictures of everything lol and was sending them to anybody we could text. Thank God for Cell phones lol. At one point all the 18 Wheelers were stopped due to the weather. We were going thankfully, but the East bound side was stopped like we had been. At one point Kierstyn said, "I think I see a snowflake!" LOL crack me up! We are losing daylight and start hearing reports of 84 being very bad. We get off of I20 and the roads are bad! Nathan said that if they don't clear up we are going to stop for the night. This upsets the girls to tears. We hit Scurry county and the roads cleared up to where we could drive 50mph.

Finally hit Snyder and then Post! Yeah! We were gong up the hill and Kierstyn said, "Mommy we are going up the hill!" and I thought she said, "Mommy, What the Hell!" ok at this time, I am so simpled out! We get up the hill and she thinks we are in Lubbock, which we still have 40 miles. She got upset when I explained this to her. She then said," Mommy, I only have 3 patience left!" Poor baby! But she was sure cracking me up!

We finally get to Mom and Dad's at 7:30. 11 Hours from when we left! Wow! What a day! Daddy had me a glass of wine poured when we got there :*).

We got to bed about 9. Kierstyn got me up at 1:00 am. Told her to go to bed. THen again at 3:39am! I sent her back to bed. They finally got up at 5:00 with Papa Dai Dai and waited on us to get up. When I came into the kitchen Kierstyn hid. LOL
We let them go see what Santa brought. Here are some pictures of our morning!

We are traveling to Lubbock for Christmas so we decided to do ours a bit early.
I got an Ipod Nano!!! I was sooo excited!

The girls were so excited. I made them make me a list this year and then bought from the list. It was great. It was things that they wanted and were so excited to get.

Kierstyn got skates for Christmas. We were making bets whether or not she could stand up. That mess skated pretty much within minutes of me helping her. She was very worried that only one skate had a brake LOL. It helped that it was 77 here today. Amazing huh? It will be 40 tomorrow and wind. Welcome to Texas.

The End of the Challenge

We are at the end. Wow! I never thought I could accomplish what I did! 13 pounds and 11.5 inches. I am running now and really want to do a 5K in the spring. I have a goal of 13 more pounds, but if I don't reach it, but gain muscle and I am more athletic then I reached my goal. I will start Challenge 4 in Jan.

I am down 13 pounds and 10.5 inches!!!! Only 5 more weeks to go! If I can lose 5 more pounds in the 5 weeks left, I will be 8 pounds from my goal of losing 26. I can't believe I have accomplished this. I have been stuck for so long and this challenge and the support has been wonderful!!!! The challenge ends Dec 17.

We met down and Marc and Nichola's for a party, then off to trick or treat. What fun the kids had. The kids alone that went with us was amazing! I bet we had 30 kids walking with us. Of course each street I heard, "Mrs. Mennenga!!!" :*) Gotta love my kids at school. We dropped Ashtyn off at a party down the street a bit, and then Kierstyn was done so we came home. The bowl of candy we had left was empty. Kierstyn is going through her candy. If I wasn't so tired, I might be stealing some chocolate.

Kevin kept bringing Boollinis over to the all the "big girls" on the block today. He came by here twice, then I found cutting it with wine made it taste pretty good, too. He told us we had to drink the remaining "Boollinis" before Monday when the machine had to be taken back LOL.

Halloween 2009~Lagaly Style

Tammy had her annual party! I love Tammy's parties! We had such a great time. Jello shots were amazing. I have come to a conclusion. I just can't tolerate the Margaritas and not feel like crap the next day, so I stuck to "Boolini's" last night and I am great this morning. Here are some pictures. We had a great time! I came home about 11 and changed clothes. I was so uncomfortable. We played "Catch Phrase" until 1:15 this morning. When I went back to Tammy's I was in my PJ pants and my TTU sweatshirt. Kevin, being an OSU fan, brought me an orange sweat shirt and told me I would probably be more comfortable in the Cowboy Orange than the Red/Black TTU one LOL

Whoohooo! Week 10 was successful! I am down 8.4 pounds! I was so excited to finally moved the scale. I hated that plateau. I upped my exercise and it seemed to work. I am cleaning out the extra room for my work out room much to the dismay of my girls. I think they think the upstairs is theirs, well, mama has taken the extra room back LOL.

Grandma Schuette's 100th Birthday party

We traveled to Slaton last weekend for Grandma Schuette's 100th birthday party. There were 200+ people there. Grandma looks amazing! We had such a great time and it was so wonderful seeing people/family I haven't seen in 10 years! The kids had a great time playing together. Here are some pictures. There are 5 generations, all girls!

My cousins that I grew up with was there. It was like we picked up where we left off again.

I have hit a plateau! Ugh! No loss in 2 weeks. I can't seeing dropping my calories anymore, so I must be needing to step up my exercise.
On a good note, I am home for the weekend, so Mom was able to take in all my pants so now I have something to wear. :-).

Week 8

I struggled this week. Nathan was home until Wednesday and with that comes his unintentional sabotaging. I was mad this morning when the scaled showed 0 loss for the week, but then I stepped back and realized I made the choice to put that food in my mouth! I made the choice not to eat all day on Monday because I was so busy I didn't think about food (OH MY RIGHT?? LOL) so I was starving when I got home and made the choices I did. Yes, I do better with out the temptations around, but I need to get better at saying NO!

We have cake at school today for boss's day. I politely said no thank you! I usually use my Fridays as a reward day for me, but not today. I am going to stay on track all weekend. I wanted to be down 10 pounds before I went home next Friday! I have my work cut out for me. I went back to the gym this week and realized how much I missed it. I will really have to start making time for me and just go!

My dear friend Shannon is down over 8 pounds and in her "non" momma jeans today from The Buckle. She gave me hope today that I can do this, too. She is 13 pounds less than me. If she can do this, so can I! We have 9 more weeks left in the challenge. I just might be in my size sixes by Christmas!

Well, I only lost .8, but that is okay!!! The Chocolate Martinis didn't help I am sure, but it sure was fun! I am down 7.8. I can't wait to see that 10 pound mark. Hopefully before I go home. 14 more days! I am wearing my size 8 jeans to school today! Thanks Shannon!!!

It is pouring again. I think we have had over 10 inches of rain in the last 4 weeks. Crazy weather!!! Kierstyn has played two games and Ashtyn one! We are pretty sure it is canceled for tomorrow and since Nathan isnt' coming home, I am taking the girls to the fair. I know I will cheat, but the walking alone will help. I have to have a corn dog!

Challenge Update

Wow, what a long and stressful week. I am so worried about my students and how they are struggling, but I know I will get them where I need to. I didn't get the gym again, just not enough time in the day, but I am really going to try to next week. I am down 7 pounds! All my dress pants are TOOO big! I am not sure if I am in an 8 yet, but I am sure close. I feel a renewed strenght that I can do this and I can reach my goal! If I can lose 3 more pounds by the time I go home on October 23, I will be half way there!

The Challenge Week 5

I am down .8 this week, which I am thrilled about. I am .4 away from the next set of numbers!!!!! My back has hurt all week and I have been totally stressed out with life. I didn't get to the gym once, but I kept my calories under control and that seemed to work. So many times when I worked a 10 hour day then had 4 more hours of work at my second jobs (mom, homework foreman, chef!!!) I wanted so badly just to go to McDonalds, Sonic, etc, but I didn't. I guess it was good I didn't even have the energy to get back in the car to go LOL....

Yes, I would have liked a bigger loss, but hey .8 is a LOSS! My back is somewhat better today, so maybe I can hit spin tomorrow or Monday morning. I just need to get refocused on my work out. Only 12 more weeks until the Challenge is over. If only I could lose 12 more pounds!!!!!! Wow!!!

The Challenge!

Well after enjoying my time with my family, I had a hard and long week keeping up with the challenge. I gained .6 as of yesterday morning. I didn't get to go to the gym either. I am finding it very hard to be a single mom during the week with Nathan gone. Getting everything done and try to make it to the gym just isn't happening. Maybe I can work my schedule out better this week. I am playing with a couple of options. I am down 3.2 pounds at this point, but hopefully I can move my little person in my banner farther down the trail by Friday!

Here is Ashtyn's new "Tween Room". Mom made the comforter, we both worked on the cushion and bedskirt, and I painted and recovered the headboard. We still need a few decor things and pillow shams, but it is coming together great! Thanks Tammy for a great inspiration!

My good friend Sasha was married in June. My team attended and we had a blast! We were all dancing having a great time. Sasha said we were all quite the talk amougst her friends while we were on the dance floor. I guess we aren't the "typical teachers" lol!

The girls' spent a weekend with Granny and Papaw Mennenga in Waco. They had a great time at the Baylor Musuem and also getting to ride the train at Palestine. Kierstyn got the mask and guns b/c the train was "robbed". She was so funny telling the story! Nathan and I had a very nice weekend in Frisco at the Embassy Suites. Kierstyn called Friday night every 20 minutes until 11:30. Ashtyn fell asleep and had showed her how to hit 3 on speed dial. LOL she couldn't sleep and just wanted to talk.

ODP Camp

My Ashtyn has been through a series of try outs and made it through to the last one this year. She made the Olympic Development Program. It is an elite program for soccer players. I am very proud of her. She went to camp in Norman, OK. She made the 3rd team out of 5. The coaches kept telling her to think that she is 50 pounds heavier when she is out on the field.

Murder in Margaritaville/Kierstyn's birthday

My dear friend Tammy threw her husband a 50th birthday party, dinner theatre style. We all had roles to play and we would end up with a "murder" and then a who dunnit. It is was Clue played out in real life! What a blast!

We were all together for Easter this year! It is always so much fun to have everyone here. The boys brought marshmellow shooters that shot nerf bullets. Yes, they're still in my blinds in a window I can't get to ;*)

I found out that since I haven't updated my blog, that I am in the dog house with my friends and family back home. I will try to do better, but please comment, so that I know you are reading. I sometimes feel like noone is looking at the blog, so therefore, I don't put a lot of effort into updating. I have several pictures to add. Picassa was messing up and wouldn't upload my picts, so I can't put it in a slide show.

Well,

I have no excuse.... I just haven't blogged lately. I have been reading the Twilight Saga and got completely hooked, then I fed my addiction to several others and now I have my sister reading it. I am amazed at the women I have found reading this wonderful saga. The DVD will be out March 21. OH YEAH... DVD watching party!

Once I decided I have read all I can about my Vampires, my good friends introduced me The Troubleshooters. I am completely hooked! I am going through about 3 books a week. Her 15th book will be out this summer. OH MY! I am on 8 and at the rate I am reading them, I will be finished in less than a month! Then I have to wait until this summer??????

Soccer starts again next weekend. We are in the Winter Cup! It was a beautiful January. Nice, warm temperatures, but the way it usually works is once soccer starts again, the return of winter is once again upon us! We shall see. I will try to get some Christmas pictures up. Maybe if we get the Ice Storm that they keep hyping up, I will have time tomorrow to upload some pictures.

We had Thanksgiving at my house! What a fun time! I have never hosted a Thanksgiving dinner before. We got to use my new table and was had so much food! The kids put on a talent show. Addyson got upset and cried through most of it. We had to take pictures for future use (when she is 16 LOL).
