B12 Issues

For the past month I have been exhausted. Not just tired, but utterly exhausted. Some days I could hardly get through the afternoon, then by the time I got home, I couldn't get out of my chair. I would put the girls to bed at 7:30 and go to bed also. One day I couldn't get Kierstyn to soccer practice. I was starting to worry as this isn't me. My life is so crazy and busy, that I have to have my energy to keep up with our crazy schedule. My good friends Shannon and Marla gave me a name of their doctor in our new medical complex. I really liked him. He did a lot of blood work. I was a bit hypoglycemic, but not to bad, but what worried him was my B12 was 197. It should be between 400-900. He also did some more blood work to make sure I didn't have an absorption issue. I have been back on weight watchers, and my symptoms have been since I have been watching what I eat. Thankfully I do not have an absorption issues, but we need to get my levels up. I am on 2000 mcg of B12 a day and I am also trying to get more dairy and meat into my diet. With this being said, WW has been out the window. I am afraid I have gained my six pounds back, but I am going to try to get back on it again. Now that I am feeling better, I hope to back on my treadmill. I go back in June to see how my levels are and see if things are better.

wow you make me wonder if I have this too. I think my Vit D is a bit low. I am going to have it all run when they do my yearly bloodwork. Hang in there!

If oral B12 doesn't help, you may want to see a doctor about shots and be checked for Pernicious Anemia.

I am so glad you are feeling better. Do not worry about the weight loss -get your energy levels back up first!
